Scott has worked as a keyboardist, bandleader, songwriter, composer & producer on numerous projects to date. Artist Bio<\/h4>[vc_column_text]The original music of R. Scott is a unique mix of deep soul, New Orleans-style r & b, jazz, blues, cabaret and pop styles forging a sound of its own. Scott has worked as a composer, bandleader, songwriter, keyboardist & producer with a roster of artists that has been evolving since 1995. Taking a journeyman\u2019s approach, he continues to build a varied body of work.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Over the years, I\u2019ve shared the stage with alt\/rock legends Sublime, Nirvana, Frank Black, Dramarama, The Stranglers, Mike Watt, Money Mark;<\/strong> neo- groove masters Black Eyed Peas, Ozomatli, The Greyboy Allstars, Galactic<\/strong> and even jazz\/fusionists Hiroshima<\/strong>. Releases have had air time all over North America (KROQ, KCRW, KPFK, KUCI, KXLU<\/strong> in L.A.\/O.C. alone), Europe and Japan.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Accomplishments:<\/strong> Numerous film\/tv placements (1995-present); Southern California Acoustic Music Competition 1 st runner-up (2007); Just Plain Folks Best Blues Song nominee (The Kiss – 2006); Orange County Music Awards Best Blues winner (2004-2005).[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

MORE ABOUT ME<\/h4>[vc_column_text]I am an event pianist and accompanist who can provide a memorable music experience for any event I am asked to play. If you need music for any occasion, I\u2019m your piano man!<\/p>\n

I have been a church keyboardist, both traditional and contemporary, for 15 years. I have provided music for numerous weddings, receptions, parties and funerals. I have accompanied student musicians for LBUSD solo\/ensemble music festivals. (A great treat was backing my son, a violist, at his last two music festivals.)<\/p>\n

Hearing the Beatles at age 8 changed my life. At that moment, I knew I would be a musician. I grew up with a varied musical palette that is reflected in my abilities. I play genres ranging from classical and theater music to jazz, funk, R&B and rock.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve played in many different musical situations, including choirs, bands, solo performances and large ensembles. I work with and accompany musicians and singers in all age groups.[\/vc_column_text]

Background<\/h4>[vc_column_text]In addition to my work as an event pianist and accompanist, I am a published composer\/songwriter, run a music production company, have been a bandleader and have many engineering, production and playing credits to my name. My compositions have been used in indie films\/documentaries (notably: “Dedini: A Life of Cartoons” by Anson Musselman). I collect vintage keyboards and synthesizers.[\/vc_column_text]

Education<\/h4>[vc_column_text]Private piano instruction in classical and popular styles Westminster High School marching, symphonic and jazz band member Recording Arts Program at Golden West College, Huntington Beach, CA 20+ years of national and regional touring experience.<\/p>\n
